
Jeffrey K. Dorsey was most recently Senior Vice President (SVP) & Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Tronc Inc. (formerly Tribune Publishing Company), a national multimedia newspaper company operating several publishing, digital & data services businesses, having left the Company in February of this year (2017). Mr. Dorsey held a similar position at Tribune Company prior to the recent split of broadcasting & publishing entities. Mr. Dorsey began his Tribune Company employment in 2000 and has held numerous middle-to-senior management positions in the areas of Human Resources (HR), Financial Planning, Supply Chain/Procurement, Operations and Distribution.
Dorsey is a hands-on operator with demonstrated leadership and strategic planning capabilities. His effective management skills and broad perspective of large-scale operations has resulted in significant productivity enhancements, stable operating environments and a highly engaged workforce.
Before joining Tribune Company, Mr. Dorsey was employed by Ameritech Corporation (now AT&T) where he performed in a number of diverse operating areas notably Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Finance and Internal Audit. Mr. Dorsey has also been involved in several entrepreneurial ventures in which he’s gained immeasurable first-hand startup experiences.
Mr. Dorsey holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelors degree from Purdue University in Industrial Management. He also is a Certified Internal Auditor. Mr. Dorsey has served on several not-for-profit boards & United Way agencies, and is currently the board chair to Young, Beautiful & Proud (YBP) Inc, a not-for-profit agency committed to the social enrichment of at-risk teenage girls.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Dorsey now lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with his lovely wife and two young children.
